The Brahmagiri evidence is not alone. It is matched by that obtained by Dr. Subbarao at Sanganakallu, close to Bellary, where there was an axe-culture accumulation 4½ feet deep (a considerable depth on this hill-top site) before the megalithic culture arrived upon the scene. Again the axes were associated with microlithic flakes, and again an overlap was observed between the two main cultures.
