∗ For a moment recently their hegemony seemed to be threatened by the first reports of a large Indus site known as Judeirjo-daro, a mile west of the Quetta road 18 miles north of Jacobabad. This newly identified group of mounds (which I have seen) is of great interest since it is untouched and apparently early in the Indus series, but the total length of the assemblage is scarcely more than 500 yards. Judeirjo-daro is thus a sizeable Indus town but no rival to the two great cities.
