(6) *Kaṁsa* (V. 1. 25; VI. 2. 122). Charaka explains *kaṁsa* as equal to 8 *prasthas* or 2 *āḍhakas*. In the older literature *kaṁsa* is said to have denoted a pot or vessel of metal (*Vedic Index*, 1.130).
