² Mr. Rice has wrongly read the name as Beribi (Mysore and Coorg) from inscriptions, page 108. This error is found in the translation of Kd. 75. Ep. Car. vi. The transliteration gives it as Chirichi-paḷiyalu. The Kannaḍa version gives it Chirichi-paḷi. Hence the difficulty and the need for verification.
