(Ibid, pp. 211 ff.) ; it is, therefore, not very likely that his grandfather could have been upon the throne in 875 A.D. To get over this difficulty Fleet has suggested (B. G., I., ii, p. 211, note 1) that Pṛthvīrāma's overlord may be taken to be Kṛṣṇa III and not Kṛṣṇa II. The date of the record goes, however, against this view.
