12. ‘निजमहिमयुतं योऽव्यधात्’ can mean ‘who restored (Kṛṣṇa) to his dignity’ as well. It will be shown below that the known situation requires a sense similar to the one suggested in the text. The root ‘yu’ means to unite as well as to separate; the translation, ‘who separated Krishna from his glory’ would be better still.
