³⁰ The view that Kheṭaka in this passage is the same as Malkhed is hardly tenable. Mānyakheṭa is nowhere known to have been referred to as Kheṭaka; whereas the ancient name of Kaira was Kheṭaka. Besides Mānyakheṭa is not known to have been occupied by any enemies at this time.
