We have seen already how the Jura inscription refers to Kṛṣṇa's conquest of Kanchi and Tanjore.(36) The inscription is unfortunately not dated, and therefore the question, whether Kṛṣṇa had led another expedition in the north after his accession, cannot be definitely settled. It is possible that after the defeat of the Paramāras, the army of Kṛṣṇa may have once more overrun Bundelkhand. But this is not very likely, since the Chandellas had grown powerful by this time and reconquered Kalanjar before 953 A.D. Kṛṣṇa also was very busy in the south. Under these circumstances it seems most likely that there was no second expedition against the Chedis and the Chandellas, but that the Jura Pras'asti was inscribed subsequent to the conquest of Kanchi and Tanjore in c. 946 A.D.
