c9.s2.22
in the Baroda plates (25) of Karka Suvarṇavarsha has now to be interpreted as referring to Dhruva's occupation of the Ganges-Jumna Doab; the poet imagines that the acquisition of heaven by Dhruva, which is mentioned in the latter half of this verse, was due to his being in possession of the holy Jumna and the Ganges. Prinsep's view that this verse refers to Dhruva's drowning himself in the confluence of the Ganges and the Jumna (26) can no longer be accepted.
