v1.c30.30

At a time when the Oṛiyā nation needed the services of every honest and capable man for the defence of her political prestige and empire, Rāmānanda Raya betrayed his trust to his own people by retiring from his position on the weakest frontier of the country, and one may ascribe the fall of Koṇḍaviḍu, Koṇḍapalle and Rājamahendrī to their being left in charge of young and inexperienced officers like the prince Vīrabhadra on the retirement of Rāmānanda. After Chaitanya's death in 1533-34 Rāmānanda spent the remainder of his life in devotion.
