A large number of coins of copper and lead were dıscovered a few years ago, buried in what appears to have once been a Buddhist stûpa at Kolhâpur Another hoard had been found some time previous in about the same locality The legends on those coins are in characters the forms of which greatly resemble those in the cave inscriptions above noticed.
