1625 Shāh Jahān joins Malik ‘Ambar and unsuccessfully besieges Burhānpur (pp. 173, 263). Parvīz and Mahābat Khān return to Deccan and Shāh Jahān retires to Bālāghāt and offers submission (p. 173). Mahābat Khān appointed governor of Bengal and summoned to court (p. 174).
