⁴ Al Biláduri uses the word Barija for a strong built war vessel. Sir Henry Elliot derives the word from the Arabic and gives an interesting note on the subject in his Appendix I, 539. The word is still used in Hindastani as beda (بیڑا) to signify a boat or bark.
