⁴ Tâj-ul-Mâasir in Sir Henry Elliot's History of India. II. 222. "After staying some time at Dehli he (Kutb-ud-dîn) marched in A.D. 1194 (H. 590) towards Kol and Banâras passing the Jumna which from its exceeding purity resembled a mirror." It would seem to place Kol near Banâras.
