Bara'da (PORBANDAR).—Of the Arab attacks on the great sea-port Vala or Valabhi, twenty miles west of Bhávnagar, during the eighth and ninth centuries details are given above pages 94-96. The manner of writing the name of the city attacked leaves it doubtful whether Balabha that is Valabhi or Baráda near Porbandar is meant. But the importance of the town destroyed and the agreement in dates with other accounts leaves little doubt that the reference is to Valabhi.⁴
