We know the coins of Jayadāman as Kshatrapa, but coins of this prince bearing the title of Mahâkshatrapa have not been discovered so far. If therefore we admit that Jayadâman did not reign at all or reigned only for a short time, we can conclude therefrom that the reign of his father Chashṭana and his son Rudradâman have been long. But what is the duration of a long reign?
