It is almost certain that the Matsya Purâṇa is right in saying that Śiva Śrî was the successor of Puḷumâvi, for we have (Rapson, page 29) the coins bearing the name "Raṇo Vâsiṭhiputa Siva-Siri-Sâtakaṇṇi (Vâsiṣṭhīputra Śiva-Śrî-Śâtakarṇi); and these coins are almost identical with those of Puḷumâvi in regard to the letters of the alphabet, the symbols (chaitya with three arches etc.) and the workmanship. We have also an inscription (No. 1279 of Lüder's list) of Amarâvatî which is dated in the reign of Siri-Sivamaka-Sada who is perhaps Śiva-Śrî-Śâtakarṇi.
