(2) Certain authors affirm that the hill Mahêndragiri is mentioned in the inscription. However, the passage "paishṭapurakamahendragirikauṭṭurakasvâmidatta" means: Mahêndra of Paishṭapura and Svâmidatta of Girikauṭṭura, that is to say, the fort of Koṭṭûra which is on the hill. There is therefore no reference in the inscription to the hill named Mahêndragiri.
