It is possible to identify Yuva-Mahārāja Śiva-Skandavarman of Māyidāvolu with the king Śiva-Skandavarman of Hira-haḍagalli. The king is called Śiva-Skandavarman in the Hirahaḍagalli plates and Vijaya-Skandavarman in those of the Guntūr district. But the words Śiva and Vijaya are prefixes and we shall see in the Kadamba documents such names as Śiva-Mṛigēśavarman, Śiva-Māndhātṛivarman, and also Śiva-Kṛishṇa (Bennur plates; Belur, 245; Ep. Carn., Vol. V). We find even the prefix Śri-Vijaya-Śiva (Ep. Carn., Vol VII., page 7.). Besides, a similar identification has been made in regard to the dynasty of the Nāgas: we have identified Śiva-Skanda-Nāga of Banavāsi with Skanda-Nāga of Kaṇhēri. The alphabet of the Hirahaḍagalli plates closely resembles that of Charudēvi's grant.
