Vol. I. pp. 28-32.—There seems to have been some shrine of Lôkêśvara in existence before the building of Lôkamahâdêvî's temple; for, one of the inscriptions speaks of her confirming to the singers the covenants of former times, which had been made by Vijayâditya.
