(2) A copper-plate grant from Barôda,² which records that the *Mahâsâmantâdhipati* Dhârâvarsha-Nirupama-Dhruvarâja, son of Karkarâja of Gujarât, while residing at Sarvamaṅgalâsattâ outside Khêṭaka or Śrîkhêṭaka, gave to a Brâhmaṇ a village named Pûsilâvilli in the Kâśahrada *déśa*. The grant was made on the full-moon day of the month Kârttika, Śaka-Saṃvat 757; and the corresponding English date is, approximately, either the 22nd October, A. D. 834, or the 11th October, A. D. 835, according as the Śaka year is to be applied as current or as expired. Khêṭaka, or Śrîkhêṭaka, is the modern Kaira; and the Kâśahrada *déśa* must be some territorial division in that neighbourhood.
