⁵ The Bhadâna grant of the Śilâhâra chieftain Aparâjita, of A. D. 997 (Epigraphia Indica, Vol. III. p. 267), asserts that he reigned for one year. But, that he really did not ascend the throne, is shewn by the way in which the Sâṅglî grant describes Gôvinda III. as meditating on the feet, not of Amôghavarsha II., but of Nityavarsha, i.e. of his father Indra III. (Ind. Ant. Vol. XII. p. 254).
