¹ Her parentage (as regards which, see page 425 above, and note 2) is stated in the Kauthêṁ grant, where her name is given as Jâkavva or Jâkavvâ, which stands for the Kanarese Jâkavve.—Her name occurs as Jakkalamadêvī (for °mahâdêvī) in an inscription at the temple of Malkana at Ruddawâḍi in the Nizâm's Dominions (*Carn.-Dêśa Inscrs.* Vol. I. p. 422).
