¹ See Ind. Ant. Vol. XII. p. 196 ff.—The Rasmâlâ asserts that Bârappa was a general of Tâila II., and attacked Mûlarâja; and perhaps some other works imply the same; but no epigraphic evidence has been obtained, supporting this statement; and it is intrinsically improbable, because Bârappa was a Chaulukya, like Mûlarâja of Aṇhilwâḍ and his descendants,—not a Châlukya, like Tâila II. On the other hand, the Sukṛita-saṃkîrtana represents Bârappa as the general of a king of Kanauj.
