³ Ekantada-Ramayya is mentioned, with the story of his cutting off his head; in the Channabasava-Purana (Jour. Bo. Br. R. As. Soc. Vol. VIII. p. 198). But the controversy, in the course of which he cut off his head, is there attributed to a Jain having entered a Saiva temple without removing his shoes; and the occurrence is located at Kalyana, where, it is said, Ramayya had gone in order to see Bijjala, whose fame had spread in all directions.
