At Honnûr near Kâgal, eight miles south of Kôlhâpur, there is an inscription which gives Ballâḷa the title of *Mahâmaṇḍaleśvara*, and implies that he ruled in conjunction with his younger brother Gaṇḍarâditya:⁴ but it is not dated; and it gives no further historical information.
