And, after this, the available part of the record comes abruptly to an end, in the middle of a sentence, in line 63.¹ The portion that is extant does not specify the locality of Mallidêva’s government: but it seems to imply that he was subordinate to Gôvindarasa, and consequently that he was administering only the Guttavolal district; and the imperfect sentence at the end perhaps gives him the title of Mahâsâmanta. It does not contain the date; but the dates that we have for Gôvindarasa from other sources,² fix it about A.D. 1115.
