During the whole expedition the Muhammadans had taken six hundred and seventy-five cannon, including one which threw balls weighing more than two hundred pounds, about 9,000 matchlocks and other guns, a large quantity of gunpowder, saltpetre, iron shields, sulphur and lead, and more than a thousand ships, many of which accommodated from sixty to eighty sailors. It is said that Mir Jumlah opened a mint at Garhgāon and caused money to be struck there in the name of the Delhi Emperor. The Muhammadans occupied a number of villages, whose inhabitants soon began to accept the position and to settle down quietly under their new rulers.
