When the news of these successes reached the king, he was overjoyed, and showered presents on his successful generals. Gauhāti was chosen as the headquarters of the Bar Phukan. Pāndu and Srighāt were strongly fortified, and prompt arrangements were made for the administration of the conquered territory.
