This reign was remarkable chiefly for the eviction of the Musalmans from Kāmrūp, and the construction of strong fortifications at Gauhati. By this time the Ahoms were able to make their own cannon, and there is one at Gauhāti, near the house of the Deputy Commissioner, which bears an inscription to the effect that it was made under the orders of the Solā Dharā Barua in the reign of this king, in the year 1594, Sak, which corresponds to 1672 A.D.
