The remaining Musalman garrisons in Kāmrup were attacked and captured in turn, and, in a great part of the Goālpāra district also, the Muhammadan yoke was thrown off. Chandra Nārāyan, a son of the Koch king Parikshit and the founder of the Bijni family, with the aid of a detachment of Ahom troops sent to him by Pratāp Singh, established himself at Hatsila in Karāibāri, on the south bank of the Brahmaputra. Many of the zamindars on the north bank made their submission to the Ahoms.
