The record opens with an invocation to Viṣṇu (*Bhagavat*) and proceeds to record the grant of a village named Pikīra in the district of Muṇḍarāṣṭra. It is dated in the fifth year of the reign of Mah. Siṃhavarman and issued from the camp at Mēnmātūra, in the Nellore District. Mah. Siṃhavarman, the donor is described as the son of Yuva Mah. Viṣṇugōpa, the grandson of Mah. Skandavarman (II) and the great-grandson of Mah. Vīravarman. The term Yuva-mahārāja which is prefixed to Viṣṇugōpa in the present grant as well as in the Uruvappalli grant suggests that he probably never ruled.
