The record is written in the Pallava-Grantha characters of the seventh century A.D., and is a Sanskrit verse in the *Giti* metre. It is somewhat damaged and can be read only with difficulty. It states that King Vichitrachitta caused to be constructed a temple for Brahma, Īśvara and Vishnu, without the use of bricks, timber, metals and mortar. Vichitrachitta is a surname of Mahēndravarman I.
