This record consists of a single Sanskrit *sloka* in Grantha-Pallava characters and is identical with the last verse of Rājasimha’s Kāñchī inscription (*S.I.I.*, vol. i, No. 24). It mentions the *birudas* of Rājasimha, *Śrībhara*, *Chitrakārmuka*, *Ekavīra*, and *Śivachuḍāmaṇi*. Dr. Hultzsch from a study of this inscription concludes that the Panamalai cave was founded by Rājasimha and that the Pallava rule extended as far south as Panamalai at this period.
