² Another MS. of the original prose *Avantisundarikathā* by Acharya Daṇḍin has been discovered by Pundit G. Harihara Sastri at Trivandrum. This confirms the contemporaneity of Bhāravi, Viṣṇuvardhana I, Durvinīta and Simhaviṣṇu. It makes however Daṇḍin the great grandson of Damodhara, a friend of Bhāravi, and not Bhāravi himself, the modification being due to a slight error in reading.
