² Sivajee called it Wurjgurh, a name which it has not retained. [Vāsota (Wassota) in the Jāvlī tāluka, Sātāra, stands on the edge of the Western Ghāts, and is supposed to have been built by the Silāhāra chief, Bhoj II (1178–93). The immense blocks of unmortared trap, which form the older portions of the wall, prove its antiquity. (I.G. Bom., 1909, i. 564–5.)]
