¹ I have not been able to ascertain the date of Ranoojee Sindia's death. By a history of Sindia's family, procured for me by Major Robert Close, the resident envoy with Doulut Rao Sindia, it appears that the event happened at Shujahalpoor, but the date is not recorded. [Rānojī Sindia died in 1745, near Shujalpur, where his cenotaph stands (I.G. (1908), Central India, p. 134).]
