The history of these Mahomedan kingdoms, as far as regards the detail of events, is already accessible to the public¹ up to the commencement of the seventeenth century; but the immediate cause of the downfall of the Bahminee dynasty, and a brief notice of the origin and progress of the states alluded to, are connected with our subject, and must be introduced as conducive to perspicuity.
