A.D. 1610.—Mullik Umber founded the city of Khirkee,³ near Doulutabad, where he established his capital, and built several splendid palaces. He repeatedly defeated the Moghul armies, and for a time recovered the fort of Ahmednugur and Nizam Shah, and given in marriage, with the fort of Sholapoor as her portion, to Ali Adil Shah in 1564, for the purpose of binding the alliance then formed against the Raja of the Carnatic. Some years after her husband's death she returned to Ahmednugur.
