v1.c9.130
Dow’s third volume would have been much more valuable had he adopted Khafee Khan as his only authority. The history was written after Aurungzebe’s death; the great blank in the Moghul history, which occurs from the tenth year of that Emperor’s reign, is very indifferently supplied, but after the twenty-third year of the reign, the account is full, and is frequently supported by other authorities, or rather, at that period, serves to corroborate them. [For Khāfī Khān see Elliott and Dowson, vol. vii. (1877).]
