v1.c9.28
The attack on Goa was suggested to Alphonzo de Albuquerque, by the Hindoo pirate, Timmojee, a native of Toolava.³ Goa was surprised, and surrendered on the 27th February, 1510,¹ but was retaken, a few months afterwards, by Eusoof Adil Shah in person.² It was, however, again attacked in the fair season, and finally conquered by Albuquerque on the 25th November, 1510,³ since which time it has remained in possession of the Portuguese.
