³ [The Governor of Aligarh (Aligurh) was persuaded by the entreaties of the ladies in the fort, including the widow of Afrasiab Khān, to surrender, in order to avert the horrors of a siege and capture. As a result of the capitulation the eldest son of Afrasiab Khān received an estate yielding annually Rs. 1,50,000, while the rest of the property, valued at a crore of rupees, was seized by Sindia.
