³ [Tāsgaon is now the headquarters of a tāluka of Sātāra District, on the Southern Marāthā Railway. The walls, which once surrounded the town and were pierced by four gates, are now ruined. Within stands the family mansion of the Patvardhans, also enclosed by walls and three fortified gates, of which the northernmost was blocked up on the death of Parasurām Bhāu (Pureshram Bhow) in 1799. (I.G. Bom., 1909, i. 563.)]
