v3.c20.104

This victory gave Muhammad northern India almost to the gates of Delhi. Hānsī, Sāmāna, Guhrām and other fortresses surrendered after the battle of Tarāorī, and the sultan marched to Ajmer, which he plundered, carrying away numbers of its inhabitants as slaves, but the city, isolated by the desert, was not yet a safe residence for a Muslim governor, and a son of Prithvī Rāj was appointed, on undertaking to pay tribute, as governor.
