v3.c20.472
The king had already summoned Khvāja Jahān and other nobles from Delhi with a large army, with a view to dispatching them to the Deccan, but the news of Bahman Shāh's success deterred him from attempting the recovery of the southern provinces while Taghī was still at large in Kāthiāwār and disaffection was rife throughout his dominions, and he resolved to restore order in Gujarāt before attempting to recover his lost provinces. The local officials and chieftains who had come from the Daulatābād province to wait on him, on learning this decision, returned in a body to Daulatābād, where they settled down quietly as loyal subjects of Bahman Shāh.
