Abdāl Mākarī and Kājī Chakk again fought side by side in 1533, when a force sent by Sultān Sa‘īd Khān of Kāshghar and commanded by his son Sikandar Khān and Mīrzā Haidar invaded the Kashmīr valley from the north, and by their ravages inflicted terrible misery on the inhabitants. The battle was indecisive, but the army of Kashmīr fought so fiercely from morning until evening that the invaders were fain to make peace and withdraw from the country, relinquishing some of their plunder. Their departure was followed by a severe famine, during which large numbers died of hunger and many more fled the country.
