v3.c24.98

In 1549 the Chakk tribe gave offence to Islām Shāh Sūr of Delhi by harbouring Haibat Khān and other Niyāzī Afghāns who had rebelled against him. They made their peace with Delhi, but attempted to utilise Haibat Khān as a counterpoise to Mīrzā Haidar in Kashmīr. Mīrzā Haidar was strong enough to frustrate this design, but was obliged, in order to strengthen his position, to conciliate Islām Shāh by a remittance of tribute.
