v3.c25.174

Muhammad II of Khāndesh profited by these disputes to assert his claim to the throne of Gujarāt, which was certainly less open to suspicion than that of Muzaffar III, and invaded the kingdom with an army of 30,000 horse, but was defeated before Ahmadābād by Chingīz Khān and the Mīrzās and driven back to his own country. Chingīz Khān rewarded the Mīrzās with extensive fiefs in the Broach district, but in a short time it was discovered that they were encroaching on the land of their neighbours and had been guilty of cruelty and oppression on their estates. They defeated a force sent against them by Chingīz Khān, but retired into Khāndesh.
