v3.c26.81

Shujā‘at Khān was on bad terms with Islām Shāh, Sher Shāh’s son and successor, and in 1547 an Afghān, whom he had punished with mutilation for drunkenness and disorderly conduct, attempted, with the king’s implied approval, to assassinate him. He was wounded, and so resented his master’s behaviour that he fled from his camp at Gwalior.
