Bahrām and his allies advanced as far as Paithan on the Godāvarī, and Khān Muhammad halted at Shivgāon, only thirteen miles distant, and begged his master, who was hunting in the neighbourhood of Bīr, to come to his assistance. On the news of the king's approach the rebels dispersed and fled, evacuating even the fortress of Daulatābād, and were pursued to the frontiers of Gujarāt, in which province they took refuge.
